First Congregational Church of Falmouth, MA
of the United Church of Christ

68 Main Street, Falmouth, MA 02540 | Sunday Morning Worship 10:00 AM

FCC Kids

We believe children should be inspired and have fun while engaging in an interactive exploration of their faith.

Our Christian Education program teaches children the basics of Christian belief in order to help them "make good choices.” Emphasis is placed on God’s love, forgiveness and support in difficult times so that children understand they are important to God. Our program teaches that Christians are responsible for their actions, and that they should strive to live by Christ’s teachings.

You are welcome here! We welcome all who want to thank God, as well as those who have doubts
or questions. We welcome people of all faith backgrounds and family configurations.

Sunday Morning Program  10:00 - 11:00 AM

FCC Kids Sunday morning program begins the Sunday after Labor Day and continues through Memorial Day Weekend.  Our program is not held on Falmouth Public School vacation weeks or during the summer months. Childcare is available from September through June.

Students in grades 1 – 8 attend worship with their parents for the first part of the service. After the minister’s “Children’s Message,” kids will exit the Sanctuary to meet their leaders in the lower lobby and then proceed to their classrooms.

Infants, Toddlers, Preschool & Kindergarten

Children are welcomed in their classrooms beginning at 9:45 and remain there for the entire service. Youngsters gather together for Bible stories, songs, hand-signing, art and lots of interactive games to create a lively learning atmosphere.

Grades 1 – 6
Our Workshop Rotation Model Sunday morning kids program (for grades 1 – 6) introduces a single Bible story, in-depth, over a 4-week period utilizing child-friendly multimedia workshops such as: Art, Cooking, Games, Movies, Puppet-Theatre and Storytelling.
Children are grouped according to grade.  Each week the classes “rotate” to a different workshop.

Jr. High Group
Students in grades 7 & 8 meet in the Teen/Media Room where they create music videos, view films, organize service projects, and engage in lively, spiritual and youth-related discussions.

Grades 9 – 12

Ninth grade students meet weekly with their Confirmation leader during the Sunday worship hour in preparation for Confirmation in May.

Students in grades 10-12 are encouraged to help with the FCC Kids program, and participate as ushers, greeters and readers in the worship service. Young people are eligible to serve as Junior Deacons after completing Confirmation.

Faith is Compatible with Science

Throughout the year, children actively explore the relationship between science and religion - that we do not have to choose between our faith and what we learn in science class. We look to science to explain how our world was created and how human beings came into existence. We look to religion (and the Bible) to teach us why we are here and to convey certain truths such as, "God loves us" and "the world God created is good."
